Aaron Salter Jr, Former Buffalo Cop Who Died in Tops Mass Shooting, Mourned,

LOCKPORT, New York—Aaron Salter III mourned his father, Aaron Salter Jr., hours after the 30-year veteran ex-cop working as a safety guard was gunned down whereas attempting to halt a racist mass taking pictures disaster at a Tops grocery store in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday.

“Today is a shock… I’m fairly certain he saved some lives immediately. He’s a hero,” Salter III instructed The Daily Beast.

Police mentioned the assault appeared go be a hate crime, the work of white 18-year-old Payton Gendron of Conklin, New York, who cops say wore physique armor and live-streamed a twisted assault that killed 10 individuals. The taking pictures struck a grocery store in a predominantly Black neighborhood.

Salter Jr. left behind three youngsters, and retired from the division in 2018, working as a safety guard on the grocery store since then.
